In His Radiance

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. Matt5:14-16

Life of Radiance

I let one of my flatmates in on one of my passwords the other day and he responded,
"do you think you're special or like God's chosen or something being 'radiance' and all?"
I responded in my defence straight away saying no. However, I then thought about it later on in the day and it occurred to me, I do think I'm special and I do think I'm God's chosen, but I also think I'm no more special than anyone else and that anyone that accepts God as their father through the adoption Jesus Christ offers is also a child of God and therefore God's chosen.

I had an exam on Saturday morning. I think it's my last exam until the end of semester 1. Yay!! Every week morning my flat gets up for Bible Study. We also cook breakfast and have it open to anyone who wants to come along. At the moment we are looking at the fruit of the Spirit. I went to Countdown this evening to fundraise with Student Life for the conference in the next holidays. Sold a good number of sausages. Anyway, I'm gonna need to go and get some study done or I'm not going to pass my end of semester exams. Ciao.

Interesting..

I personally think we´re specifically chosen by God, but not because of anything we´ve done ourselves, no one is worthy, why God brings only some to him and not everyone is tough one though.

Thanks for the comment Andrew. I was originally going to write about how I wouldn't talk about the whole free-will issue as it's already been discussed in great detail over the last year or so and I was going to give references to the blogs where it was discussed but in searching for the blogs I ended up reading them and ended up getting caught up for much longer than I would have liked. Not because I didn't like the discussion but reather that I got drawn into it and I don't have a lot of time to spend reading blogs. So if people want references go to Andrew's http://mandygetsserious.blogspot.com/ blog.

WTF's so bad about believing you are what God has made you?
This dispensational/fatalistic, popular dogma that God still sees you as a sinner after you've accepted Christ is pure bunk. "He that is in Christ (The Word) is a new creation".
"He (God) hath made him (Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
Contradicting this is to lie about God and all that he accomplished in Christ.
