In His Radiance

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. Matt5:14-16

I'm going to (hopefully) go to this tonight. I just warn people, to make sure you confirm what this dude says with the bible, these 'big guys' have been known to compromise doctrine in order to get better numbers of 'saved' people

i'm not being negative, it could well be the most awesome night ever, but DO be on guard

god bless

I have to second Andrew Brown's motion.
God wants us to believe Him according to His Word, not the lies of men - even religious ones!
Too much of protestantism has already prostituted itself playing the "numbers" game, when a ministrys' goal should be to build believers, not just fill pews.

Andrew, i have to say i thought of you when Greg mentioned the filling of the emptiness in one's heart. But i still agreed with him on that respect as i do firmly believe that there is a part of every person's life that is destined to be filled by God.

I went on Friday night, and came back with mixed reactions. My biggest problem isn't so much anything that happened, but why does it have to come from America, I mean, no offence Greg, but nothing you did was anything Christchurch couldn't have done by itself, we just never have the motivation... Which is sad.

I'm sure a lot of people got a lot out of the night, although, if you weren't in it for the altar call, there wasn't alot in it, at least he preached the Gospel and not just how to use Jesus to heal. Although when he mentioned drug addicts should come to be healed, I think that's poor motivation to come to God, people shouldn't come to God to get things fixed, they should come to follow him.

All in all, I thought it was average. The most important part now is to make sure the conversions/re-dedications are followed up because unless that happens then it was almost a waste of time imo.

The healthy do't need a doctor, the sick do.
These crusades were intended for those needing to be saved not those who already are.
There is nothing wrong with going but don't get annoyed cos you got little out of it, you're not the target audience.
(sorry if this post sounds bitter, it's not meant to)
