Fixed blog
To lighter subjects, I have started listening to two more songs that i really like. Both old Opawaian songs so i think it's safe to say taht most people will know them.
Firstly; Behold He Comes (These Are The Days Of Elijah)
and secondly; There's A River Of Life
(i wonder if anyone can imagine why i know that song now, one hint.. spent the weekend in the wild with guys, Randall was among them.)
Great times. I won't forget that song now.
Speaking of remembering songs for particular moments in time. I will post my short talk that i presented on Sunday on Discernment of the Coldplay song A Message. (what i didn't expect was the quote Jason and Steve both used extrated from this blog. Thanks guys, i never knew my words spoke to other people [maybe the words weren't my own]) Without further a do, here is the short-speech:
First verse says to me this simple message; Love is the greatest. It never ends. Love is and will always be.
When you are loved, and in the company of love, you are not alone.
Second verse goes on to say; On our own we are without love, because we have not accepted the love of God, but when we do, we are not alone. We don’t see clearly because stepping out in faith and trusting someone is hard and it seems like we should only trust ourselves. But stepping out in faith is the best thing to do.
The chorus is saying to me about how love is a one way street. It is! I don’t care what Ricky Martin says in his Private Emotion song. You give without the expectation of getting back. Sometimes you do get back and that’s awesome, but don’t expect it because if what you are giving really is love then it shouldn’t matter to you how the person reacts because you will love them regardless. And love doesn’t ever end.

Oooh-raah!
Andy, it's me (the blogger formerly known as -ted). What's an Opawian? Thanks for the email!
It occurs to me from studying a map that IM chatting may be impractical: When I'm awake, you most likely aren't, and vice-versa.
Oh well, I'M JUST GLAD YOU'RE BACK! :)
Now that I really think about it, I miss Behold He Comes, we haven't done that song for at least a few years now.
There are a number of songs that I like that have not been doen for a while, bringing them back would add a bit more variety (rather than singing "Above all" once at least every week!).
Gary, if you want a particular song played, then just ask the worship leader. I wouldn't mind listening to a few different ones too. We do add new songs in occasionally to expand our worship song list, maybe we could go the other way and add a few of the older ones. If you were there on Sunday night Steve Taylor said that maybe the reason older people liked hymns was because the hymns that they sang then brought back the reminisces of those times. Maybe bringing back some older songs will have an impact on the older youth who sang those songs when they were in their early youth.
-ted, It is theodore isn't it? That is a good question! (your question i mean) An Opawaian to me is my extended family, more important, it is the people and the place i go to when i am feeling down, when i want to be cheered up, even though they don't know it, i turn to the Opawians and they raise my spirits. It is essentially my home. Not my house, but the place my heart lies, and home is where the heart is. An Opawian is a way to define the people i love most, and the people who love me. The people i can do anything with and have a good time, the people i can talk openly to, the people who i want to listen to, to understand, to lend my hand and advice. I am an Opawian because it is where i belong. It is where God wants me to be. I am an Opawian because i try to be like the people who deserve the name Opawian by radiating love to even the most unworthy. I am an Opawian because i love Jesus and because He was whipped, dragged through a town holding a cross, nailed by hand and feet to the burden He carried, and deserted by the people He loved and the Father who loved Him, then sent through hell to pay for my stupidety, I am in debt to him by the life that He made free. And so to be an Opawian is to life a life that is not my own, but in reflection of His divine love. It is a community to where i can stand on a platform, arms linked with comrades, and sing my love for the one who gave me a destiny. That to me is the essence of an Opawian. (i'm happier to go into greater detail on specifics, there is a lot more to say here)
oh and Theodore, congratulations, you are now in the 20% of Americans who know where New Zealand is on a world map. (i think i heard that once anyway)
